The Alaska Court System has changed how it notifies potential jurors.

Instead of sending notifications about jury duty through the mail, people will now receive an email.

Email addresses are provided by the Permanent Fund Dividend Office. If a juror doesn't respond to the email, they will be sent a postcard.

The court system says the new process is more efficient and will save money.

The courts are also reminding Alaskans they do not ask for payments by email. They recommend checking links direct to courts.alaska.gov rather than a fake page.

Anyone worried that an email from the Alaska Court System might be a scam can contact their local court.
