Warmer temps and snow headed for Southcentral
Very cold, clear conditions persisted again on Saturday for much of the state. However, change is on the way for Southcentral. A low-pressure system to the west is making its way down the coast, triggering widespread Winter Weather Advisories and a handful of Blizzard Warnings. The storm will bring warmer temperatures, increasing cloud coverage, and snow to Southcentral on Sunday. The snow will arrive to the Western Kenai Peninsula by midday and make its way to the Anchorage bowl by evening. Right now the storm is only looking to bring about an inch of new accumulation to Alaska’s largest city.
Don’t get too comfortable. Another cold snap follows the storm but it won’t be as cold as the one we just had.
Enjoy your weekend!
