Man charged in fatal Bragaw Street crash with dump truck
In a community alert Friday the Anchorage Police Department says 22-year-old Joey Thao has been arrested for the December traffic collision that left 22-year-old Cindy Vang dead.
Thao faces charges including manslaughter, assault and operating under the influence.
An alert from APD on Dec. 28 said a red Honda sedan was driving west on East Seventh Avenue and a dump truck was heading north on Bragaw Street when they collided.
Thao was driving the Honda. Vang was his passenger and pronounced dead at the scene. A boy passenger and Thao were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The dump truck driver wasn’t hurt.
Online court records show Thao will have to pay $95,000 to get out of jail.
