The Municipality of Anchorage will be mailing out approximately 90,000 property valuation notices on Monday, a release from the city states.

According to municipal code, the city is required to send them on or before the 15th of January every year.

The total value of residential properties rose by about 0.6%. Commercial property values dropped 0.1%. And taxable new construction fell 16%, from $248 million to $208 million, the release reports.

Property owners who have questions about the valuations have 30 days to resolve them or file appeals. The city says most issues can be handled without having to file formal appeals.

Anchorage property owners can go to the property appraisal website for more resources, or call (907) 343-6500.

Correction: The phone number property owners can call for resources has been corrected.
