Police name woman killed in Bragaw Street crash with dump truck
The Anchorage Police Department has named 22-year-old Cindy Vang as the woman killed in the Dec. 28 collision at East Seventh Avenue and Bragaw Street.
A woman is dead following a collision early Saturday morning between a car and a dump truck.
The initial alert from the Anchorage Police Department at 3:19 a.m. stated the intersection of East Seventh Avenue and Bragaw Street was closed due to a fatal crash.
An update released just before 8 a.m. said a red Honda sedan was heading west on East Seventh Avenue and the dump truck was going north on Bragaw when the two collided in the intersection.
The man driving the car and a boy passenger were taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. A woman passenger was pronounced dead at the scene.
APD said her name will be released after family has been notified.
The driver of the dump truck was uninjured.
Police say the cause of the crash is under investigation and investigators are searching for witnesses. Anyone with information or video is asked to contact APD dispatch at 311.
