Alaska Sports Hall of Fame basketball coach Chuck White died Monday at his home in Colorado.

No cause of death has been announced, but friends said White suffered from Parkinson’s disease for several years.

White won 921 basketball games and 18 state titles while head coach at East and West Anchorage high schools. He turned out such stars as Trajan Langdon and Mao Tosi during his 45 seasons along his way to a spot in the hall of fame.

But White is remembered for more than his accomplishments as a leader on the court.

White's final years as a coach took him to Colorado as an assistant at Adams State. He visited Anchorage in December 2014 when he took part in the annual East Anchorage alumni game.
