Sentencing for convicted killer Dominic Johnson has been delayed until later next year. He was one of four people charged with the murder of Palmer 16-year-old David Grunwald.

A jury convicted Erick Almandinger in May 2018; Johnson was found guilty in December 2018.

Bradley Renfro became the third person convicted with first-degree murder after a lengthy trial in Fairbanks this fall.

Austin Barrett is the last person to go to trial in Fairbanks in April 2020.

Judge Gregory Heath has said he would like to have all of the trials completed before sentencing any of the men involved.

At a status hearing on Friday, Johnson’s attorney, Lyle Stohler, said he was in the process of having Johnson psychologically tested before the sentencing.

Another status hearing is set for the beginning of April.
