Alaska State Troopers say a woman has been arrested in a domestic violence incident.

Just after 4 p.m. Nov. 15, troopers say they received a report about a domestic violence assault in the village of Tuluksak. In their investigation, troopers found that 29-year-old Melissa Mike assaulted a family member and struck them in the head using a fire stoker.

Troopers say Mike caused serious physical injury, and the family member's injuries are possibly life-threatening.

AST says the victim was brought to Anchorage via medevac. Mike is being held at the Yukon Kuskokwim Correctional Center without bail.
