The person of interest in a recent triple homicide near Wasilla has been arrested.

According to an online dispatch, Juan Camarena, 51, contacted Alaska State Troopers Thursday to arrange a meeting in Wasilla. 

Troopers had been searching for Camarena since Nov. 11, when an online dispatch identified him as a person of interest in the triple homicide investigation. 

He was wanted for questioning about the homicide that happened off of South Knik Goose Bay and Knik Knack Mud Shack Road. Troopers said he was considered to be dangerous.

On Thursday, AST stated they made contact with Camarena around 11:30 a.m. and he was arrested on an unrelated warrant for federal charges.

Troopers say the investigation into the homicides in ongoing.
