Police name suspect in homicide on Klevin Street
The Anchorage Police Department says detectives are investigating a woman's death reported in the early morning hours Sunday.
Police say officers responded to the report around 12:30 a.m. at a home on the 700 block of Klevin Street. When they arrived, officers found the woman dead inside the home.
APD says one man was taken into custody for questioning. He was later identified as 31-year-old Chue Yang. Police say after detectives interviewed Yang, he was arrested on multiple charges including criminally negligent homicide and manslaughter.
In an advisory message sent at 1:10 a.m., police said homicide detectives were on location processing the scene.
"The preliminary investigation found that there was a disturbance inside the home between the male and female that turned physically violent," APD wrote. "The female died as a result of her injuries."
APD says there are no outstanding suspects.
