A man accused of shooting and killing his brother in the Western Alaska community of Scammon Bay has been charged with murder.

Hank Aguchak, 36, has been charged with second-degree murder and manslaughter in the death of 35-year-old Edward Aguchak, according to an online Alaska State Troopers dispatch. Both men are from Scammon Bay.

AST was initially notified of the shooting on Oct. 20, but weather prevented troopers and a medevac aircraft from reaching the community. Village police officers had Hank in custody, troopers stated.

Edward died the following day.

In Tuesday's update, troopers stated Hank Aguchak is being held at the Yukon Kuskokwim Correctional Center in Bethel.
