Service members and reservists who are 18 to 20 years old and have a military-equivalent commercial driver's license can now apply for trucking jobs online.

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration announced a new job opportunities website Monday as part of their Under 21 Military Driver Pilot Program. According to FMCSA, the pilot program spans three years and studies the feasibility, benefits and safety impacts of having younger drivers operate commercial vehicles through interstate commerce.

The website connects job seekers to employers nationwide who are looking for drivers in the pilot program.

“Our country has a shortage of truck drivers. This resource will help military service members translate their training into good-paying jobs safely operating commercial vehicles across the country,” said U.S. Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao.

Those interested can browse jobs and apply online through the Under 21 Military Drivers website. The U.S. Department of Transportation also facilitates programs helping veterans transition into civilian careers.
