The Alaska State Troopers are investigating the death of a man in the Mat-Su as a homicide.

An online trooper dispatch at the time said the man's body was discovered by a hunter near Sunset Drive in Wasilla on Oct. 19 just before 2:30 p.m. The body was sent to the state medical examiner for identification.

An updated dispatch said the medical examiner identified the man as 32-year-old Terry R. Spencer of Wasilla on Wednesday.

AST spokesperson Ken Marsh said Spencer died as a result of gunfire and troopers have arrested another Wasilla man for the crime.

Cooper Gordon, 39, was taken into custody on Thursday around 1 p.m.  He has been charged with first-degree murder and first-degree robbery, according to Marsh.

Troopers say the investigation is ongoing.
