Alaskans love their pizza, and they had plenty to choose from on Saturday at the Alaska Airlines Center.

Peak 2 Peak hosted Crustfest, Anchorage's first-ever pizza festival where 11 pizzerias served up their finest slices.

Organizers said they wanted to give people a taste of some of the best pizza the city has to offer.

"People tend to stick to what they know and we thought if we put a bunch of different pizzas in the same place that people will kind of step out of their comfort zone and start trying and finding some of those smaller restaurants you don't know about until you know about them," said Peak 2 Peak's Sarah Boice.

A portion of every ticket sold went to the Food Bank of Alaska.

Crustfest did not crown the best pizza, but that's something organizers said will happen next year.
