Conservative radio host Dave Stieren will join Gov. Mike Dunleavy’s administration as a community relations liaison, Dunleavy’s press office said Wednesday.

The popular afternoon KFQD host will start on Oct. 21. The governor’s office did not say how much his salary would be.

"Strong communication efforts are critical to our goal of working with the residents of Alaska to build a robust future for our state,” Dunleavy said in a prepared statement. “To do that, we need communications that easily and accurately flow both ways. Mr. Stieren will serve as the bridge between Alaskans and this administration. He will be an effective combination of communication and outreach.”

Stieren becomes the second conservative radio show host to join Dunleavy’s team. Rick Green left his show to take a job with the Alaska Department of Fish and Game.
