Unofficial results for Juneau's municipal election are in.

Residents voted on various public official positions and propositions. According to the unofficial results, just over 23% of registered voters participated in the election.

A release from the City and Borough of Juneau said after the election there are still about 2,000 absentee or questioned ballots yet to be reviewed.

The Absentee/Question Review Board will begin working Wednesday. On Friday, the board will open and count the reviewed ballots. Those numbers will then be added to the unofficial results from the election.

On Oct. 8, the Canvass Review Board will meet to review election returns. Ballots post-marked the day of the election and received by Oct. 8 will be added to the preliminary results. The board will then certify the final results.

The unofficial results are available online at the city clerk's elections page. All results are unofficial until the board certifies ballot votes.

Questions about the election should be directed to the Municipal Clerk’s office at 586-5278 or via email to City.Clerk@juneau.org.
