The last portion of Kenai River closed due to the Swan Lake Fire has reopened for boating, a joint release from multiple agencies said.

Upper Kenai River from Mile 69.5 to 71.5 was closed because of firefighting activity. The section was reopened Saturday, Sept. 21.

Skilak Road is also open, along with all state and federal boat ramps on Kenai River and Skilak Lake. Campgrounds and trails near the Skilak Wildlife Recreation Area remain closed.

According to the release, fire danger has decreased in the Kenai Peninsula region but advise people to remain prepared. Fire information can be found on AK Fire Info and the Alaska Interagency Coordination Center.
