No presidential preference poll for Alaskan Republicans in 2020 election
Alaskan Republicans will not participate in a presidential preference poll for the 2020 cycle, according to a news release the Alaska Republican Party sent Saturday.
Traditionally, the results of the PPP are used to determine how Alaska votes at the Republican National Convention.
The Alaska Republican Party State Central Committee passed an interim rule that lets it decide a PPP would serve no useful purpose when the incumbent is a Republican. And since Donald Trump, this election’s incumbent, is a Republican, there won’t be a PPP for the upcoming election.
