Near the Swan Lake Fire, high winds are blowing fire-weakened trees onto roads and camping areas, causing closures.

A Thursday post on AK Fire Info says many trees have fallen across the Skilak Loop Road and the Lower and Upper Skilak Boat Launch Roads.

Firefighters are working on clearing trees that fell onto the road. The campgrounds in those areas have been closed for safety reasons.

Since it began in June, the Swan Lake Fire has burned 167,164 acres. It is currently 57% contained and has 265 people working on it.
