The Alaska Energy Authority is looking for applicants in rural Alaska who are interested in getting the outdoor lights on public buildings and facilities retrofitted with more energy-efficient LED bulbs.

Funding for the project is provided by Wells Fargo and the state's Village Energy Efficiency Program, which aims to install more energy-efficient and cost-saving items in buildings in non-urban communities.

People living in communities with less than 8,000 people are encouraged to apply for the grants. Applications are due Friday, Sept. 20 at 2 p.m.

Applications can be submitted on the AEA's website
