Disaster Assistance Center is open to help victims of wildfires
The state is offering help to victims of wildfires by setting up a Disaster Assistance Center at Willow United Methodist Church at 29286 Parks Highway. It's open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. through Sept. 18.
People can go there to find out what aid is available to them.
Gov. Mike Dunleavy made a disaster declaration on Aug. 23. The disaster declaration activates the state's Individual and Public Assistance Programs.
Residents in the Mat-Su and Kenai Peninsula Boroughs may be eligible for disaster recovery grants for damages to their primary residences caused by wildfires during the 2019 season.
