Seen a junk car on a public road for over a day? APD will get rid of it
According to an Anchorage city ordinance, vehicles cannot be parked on public roadways for more than 24 hours, with the exception of noon on Fridays till noon on Mondays.
If there's a junk car that's been around too long, call the Anchorage Police Department's junk car hotline at 907-786-8830. Give a physical description such as color, make, model and license plate number. Also say where it's located and how long it's been in the same spot. Callers can remain anonymous.
APD said in a social media post that, because of scheduling, it may take a day or two for the car to be removed.
Vehicles parked on personal properties are matters for the city's Code Enforcement Department. A complaint can be filed on the city's website.
