AFD gets East Anchorage house fire under control in less than 15 minutes
Anchorage firefighters were able to get a house fire in East Anchorage under control in just 12 minutes Thursday morning.
The Anchorage Fire Department was called to the scene of a fire in the Russian Jack Neighborhood at 10:42 a.m. The fire was under control by 10:54 a.m.
According to Fire Chief Jodie Hettrick, the building was fully engulfed in flames when they arrived. 12 fire engines made it to the scene, which is the normal response.
A family of four were inside at the time, including a 2-year-old girl. All were able to get out safely.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
