The Glenn Highway is down to one lane eastbound and westbound at Airport Heights Drive while crews work to resolve a traffic signal issue.

Employees from the municipality's signal shop are there now working to fix the traffic signal. Anchorage police are also there helping with traffic control.

Drivers are advised to avoid the area, according to police, and traffic signals in all directions will be off for several hours.

Police went on to say a flashing four-way stoplight has been placed at the intersection while repairs take place. This intersection will need to be treated as a four-way stop until the traffic signal is working again.

Anchorage police said electrical damage was to blame for the traffic signal not working.
