A new low-cost airline is coming to Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport next summer, offering nonstop service between Anchorage and Germany.

Eurowings, an airline operated by the Lufthansa Group, will have flights between Frankfurt, Germany and Anchorage three times a week starting June 1, 2020.

The announcement was made on the Ted Stevens' Facebook page Wednesday.

The flights will be on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Outbound flights will take off from Frankfurt in the morning, landing in Anchorage at 11:55 a.m. Returning flights will leave Anchorage at 1:55 p.m., arriving in Frankfurt the next morning.

Anchorage is one of six cities to get the new service. The others are Las Vegas, Phoenix, Orlando, Seattle and Detroit.

Correction: A previous version of this story misspelled Frankfurt as Frankfort.
