1 person hurt, suspect arrested in Big Timber Motel shooting
Anchorage police have arrested one man after a shooting at the Big Timber Motel in Downtown Anchorage which left one person injured.
An alert from the Anchorage Police Department said the incident happened around 2:45 a.m. Police have identified the suspect as 52-year-old Robert Alexander.
When officers arrived, APD says they saw a man had been shot in his upper body. The man was brought to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Alexander was transported to jail after questioning, APD said.
Police say there were several other people taken into custody for questioning. An initial investigation found there was an altercation inside of the building when Alexander shot the victim. APD says the victim's injuries have turned life-threatening.
Alexander faces multiple charges including first-degree assault and reckless endangerment.
