A Juneau Police Department officer was arrested Sunday for driving under the influence, JPD said in a statement.

Police arrested officer Brent Bartlett after they responded to a vehicle collision near the 4000 block of the North Douglas Highway around 6:25 p.m. The investigation found Bartlett was driving his truck outbound on the highway and rear-ended another truck driven by a 48-year-old woman.

The woman was transported to Bartlett Regional Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police say.

Bartlett was sent to JPD and then to the Lemon Creek Correctional Center. Police say Bartlett was also charged with third-degree assault for causing injury to another person while driving under the influence.

JPD says the investigation is ongoing and Bartlett was held on no bail.
