There is a change in command at Eielson Air Force base in the Alaska National Guard's 168th Wing. Chief Master Sgt. Teresa Renson was selected as the next command chief.

Renson has been a member of the wing for 26 years when she joined the unit in 1993. She will replace Chief Master Sgt. James Wolverton who is retiring this summer, an Alaska Air National Guard release stated.

Col. Bryan White says Renson has proved herself over the years when she was a mission support group superintendent and is excited for her to serve as command chief

“It is my privilege to announce that Chief Teresa Renson has been selected as the wing’s next command chief," Col. White, 168th Wing commander, said in in a wing-wide announcement. "From a competitive field of awesome candidates, Chief Renson’s experience, skills, and demonstrated leadership were clearly the benchmark for what the wing needs now as its next command chief.”

As guardians of the Last Frontier, the mission of the 168th Wing is to provide air refueling, missile warning and space surveillance for the state of Alaska and the nation. More information on the wing can be found on their website.

Renson will be the senior enlisted leader for the 168th wing and she will be responsible for more than 800 guardsmen, civilian personnel and their families.
