Napaskiak man dead after drowning in Kuskokwim River
An Alaska man is dead after he fell into the Kuskokwim River, according to the Bethel Police Department.
Bethel police responded to the area of First Avenue on Wednesday where it was reported a man might have fallen into the river. Bethel Search and Rescue also responded to assist police. After some time, they found the body of 35-year-old Fritz Johnson of Napaskiak.
Johnson's remains will be taken to the medical examiner's office in Anchorage where an official cause of death will be determined.
The family has been notified of his death and Bethel police extend their condolences to Johnson's family and friends.
