Anchorage reached 81° Friday, breaking the 8th record high temperature of this heat wave over the last two weeks.

The large ridge of high pressure responsible for the heat will stay in full force through the weekend. That means temperatures will continue to soar well above average for this time of year with high temperatures likely reaching the low to mid-80s, which would once again be record setting. The Mat-Su will be even warmer this weekend with highs approaching 90°.

Our skies will technically be clear across all of Southcentral, but with the Swan Lake Fire burning close to 90,000 acres, smoke and haze will remain in the area with moderate to unhealthy air quality likely.

Stay safe and fire-wise!
