Teen girl killed in Sterling ATV crash
A 13-year-old girl from Sterling died Monday after she lost control of the all-terrain vehicle she was driving and crashed, according to a dispatch from Alaska State Troopers.
Trooper spokesperson Ken Marsh said Verba was driving on the trail, not a maintained roadway.
About 5:45 p.m., troopers and Central Emergency Services responded to the crash on Robinson Loop Road near Higher ground. They say the teen, Tori Verba, was wearing a helmet.
Verba's next of kin have been notified. Officials continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
