Update: Suspect arrested, Lake Otis and 20th Avenue perimeter cleared
Police have arrested the man suspected of firing shots at Chester Creek Park Saturday afternoon. The area of Lake Otis Parkway and 20th Avenue is now clear.
The suspect has been identified as 24-year-old Timothy Wood who was remanded to the Anchorage Jail. Police say Wood had an outstanding warrant for failure to appear on a fifth-degree assault charge. Wood may face more charges, police say.
Officers said that while conducting their search, they also identified and arrested 31-year-old Sally Gosuk who had an outstanding felony warrant for third-degree assault. She was also remanded to the Anchorage Jail.
Anchorage Police Department says officers are looking for an armed man in Chester Creek Park near Lake Otis Parkway and 20th Avenue.
Police said they received a report of shots fired and a suspicious man on the trail at Chester Creek at 1:04 p.m. Just after 2 p.m., APD said officers set up a perimeter and the K9 Unit will be tracking the area.
Police advise people to avoid the area until further notice.
