President Donald Trump on Friday made a brief stop at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson to refuel Air Force One on his way to Japan. The president will spend four days in the island nation to meet with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, attend a sumo match and other activities.

Alaska Gov. Mike Dunleavy joined the president on board Air Force One while on the tarmac to talk about Alaska-centric issues, according to a release from Duneavy's office, including resource development and growing Alaska's economy.

Air Force One touched down before 4 p.m. The president deplaned to meet with military service members and take photos with those in attendance.
