After issuing a warrant for his arrest on Tuesday, Alaska State Troopers have arrested 25-year-old Patrick Marsh for the murder of 69-year-old Trisha Pearson, according to an online dispatch posted Friday.

Around 8:20 Friday morning, a trooper saw Marsh walking near the area of Badger Road and Hartzog Loop in North Pole.

"Marsh provided a false name but Troopers took him into custody and were able to positively identify him. Investigation is ongoing," the dispatch states.

Troopers were notified of a deceased person at a residence on Yankovitch Road in Fairbanks early Monday morning. After responding, they determined Pearson’s death was suspicious.

The investigation showed Marsh was involved in the death and then stole Pearson’s Jeep Cherokee. The vehicle was found abandoned in the Hamilton Acres area later Monday.
