Anchorage police are investigating a shooting that left two people injured Wednesday morning.

Officers with the Anchorage Police Department responded to an apartment complex on the 5300 block of Mockingbird Drive just before 2:30 a.m. after receiving a report of a gunshot victim.

When they arrived, they discovered one man who was shot in the lower body. Not long after, APD dispatch was notified of another man at a local hospital who was also shot in the lower body, a release from the department said. Their injuries were not life-threatening.

Police determined that both men were in the same apartment when the shooting occurred. One stayed, the other went to the hospital.

APD has not made any arrests in connection to this incident. The release said the investigation is ongoing, but officers believe it to be isolated.

No roads were closed in the area, but police are expected to be on scene through the morning.
