A child was hit by a vehicle Tuesday afternoon near a school in Muldoon according to Anchorage police, who say the child was hospitalized with injuries.

APD spokeswoman Renee Oistad said officers responded just after 3:30 p.m. Tuesday to the vehicle-pedestrian collision near Creekside Park Elementary School, at the intersection of East Sixth Avenue and Oklahoma Street.

“The pedestrian was an elementary school-aged person who was transported to the hospital,” Oistad wrote in an email. “The driver remained on scene.”

Oistad didn’t have any word that the child’s injuries were life-threatening. She expected to have more information on the collision after responding officers filed a formal report.
