Rain came down early Wednesday, heavy at times, but by the time the sun sets it will feel like a different day.

After the morning rain, showers will slowly taper off throughout the day. By the evening commute, the showers will stop and the sun will find its way through the breaks in the clouds. The early day rain will keep things a little cooler in the afternoon. Temperatures will stay in the low 50s. Overnight clearing will allow temps to drop to near 40 degrees.

Thursday will start out with sunshine, but soak it in while you can. Clouds will build throughout the day before a chance of showers returns late in the evening. Those building clouds will be what keeps us a touch cooler on Friday's eve. Low-50s is all we get yet again. Thursday's overnight chance of rain isn't enough to instill any confidence in a wet forecast. That doesn't come until almost 24 hours later.

Friday will be very similar to Thursday in almost every way. The big difference will be the chance of rain actually bringing us the rain late-Friday into Saturday morning. Rain should taper off Saturday morning just in time for some weekend fun.

And if it's perfect weather you are looking for on Mother's Day, keep your fingers crossed! At this point Sunday looks to be dry. We just all need to hope it says that way!

Happy Hump Day!
