Multiple agencies search for missing hiker
The search is on for a hiking enthusiast missing near Eagle River.
Alaska State Troopers say family members notified them Tuesday night that 47-year-old Neil Guggenmos of Palmer didn't return home. Family found his vehicle at the Eagle River Nature Center, but no sign of him.
Guggenmos is 6 feet tall, weighs 260 pounds and is knowledgeable of the trail system which is in good shape.
Troopers, park rangers, the Anchorage Police Department, and search and rescue crews are all looking for him.
The public is being asked to stay away from the area while the search is being conducted.
