Alaska State Troopers say speed and alcohol appear to be factors in a Parks Highway crash Tuesday that left one person dead.

Troopers and Mat-Su Central emergency medical services responded to the single-vehicle rollover just before 4 a.m. Tuesday. The vehicle was in the median of the highway between Trunk Road and Hyer Road.

According to troopers, one person was dead and had been ejected from the vehicle. Another person, also ejected, was lying nearby critically injured. A third person, who troopers believe to be the driver, appeared to have minor injuries.

Both injured people were taken to the hospital.

Troopers are working to notify next of kin.
