The Glenn Highway reopened just before 9:30 a.m. Thursday, after police closed it to respond to a collision involving multiple vehicles.

The collision occurred near the South Eagle River exit overpass, Anchorage police said in a traffic alert.

According to APD communications director MJ Thim, four vehicles were involved and two were on fire.

Minor injuries had been reported. Thim said traffic was diverted through Eagle River, causing delays and congestion. Inbound lanes near the South Eagle River exit were closed.

In the alert announcing that the highway had been cleared, police said drivers should expect continued delays in the area as traffic returns to normal.
