APD seeks driver in pedestrian hit-and-run
The Anchorage Police Department is searching for a driver who they say struck a pedestrian with their truck early Tuesday morning.
The call came in around 8:15 a.m., APD spokesperson MJ Thim said. The caller reported that a pedestrian was struck at the intersection of Muldoon and Debarr roads.
Thim said the driver of the truck was turning from Debarr Road onto Muldoon Road when they hit a woman who was in a crosswalk.
APD originally said the suspected vehicle was a white SUV citing witnesses at the scene, but corrected that to a dark green or grey GMC truck Wednesday afternoon after obtaining surveillance photos.
The woman was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. According to Thim, the driver left the scene, heading westbound on Debarr Road.
"We don't have any other description at this time other than it was a white SUV," Thim said.
Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call dispatch at 311.
