Troopers make alleged motorcycle thief return ride to its owner
Alaska State Troopers arrested a man for allegedly stealing a motorcycle – but not before making him return the ride to its proper owner.
The case which led to 22-year-old Wasilla resident Skyler A. Brocker’s arrest began just after 3:30 p.m. Monday, troopers said in an online dispatch. The stolen motorcycle, a 2006 Yamaha, had been reported broken down along Caribou Street in Wasilla.
Troopers responded and developed a suspect with the help of citizens in the area; they found the motorcycle hidden behind Brocker's home.
“[Brocker] was identified as being responsible and after AST had him assist in pushing the motorcycle back to the roadway to the victim's truck, he was placed under arrest for [first-degree vehicle theft and second-degree theft],” the dispatch reads.
Troopers said Brocker was held at the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility without bail pending his arraignment.
