Prayer walks held for missing Chevak woman as search continues
There is still no sign of a woman reported missing from Chevak last month. The family of 35-year-old Sara Nicholas says local searches on snowmachine and on foot continue.
Meanwhile, the Western Alaska community has held prayer walks for her.
"Wondering hurts," said Nicholas' mother, Nastasia Ulroan.
Ulroan is asking people in the community to report when and where they last saw Nicholas to Alaska State Troopers. Family members say Nicholas has four children.
According to an online dispatch posted April 8, troopers were notified about Nicholas' disappearance by village police officers on March 31. An investigation showed that Nicholas was last seen by family on March 18.
Department of Public Safety communications director Megan Peters says a current missing persons bulletin is active and will remain so until Nicholas is found. People with information are asked to contact AST at 907-543-2294, or their closest law enforcement office.
