The Sullivan Arena was packed over the weekend with people heading to the annual Great Alaska Sportsman Show, a four-day event showcasing the great outdoors.

Every year, the show allows visitors to check out merchandise and services from local and national brands. For Cody Severance of Alaska Butcher Equipment and Supply, this year was all about upping their game.

"We have a lot of our charters out here so we talk to them, do a lot of business, handle stuff with them while we're here as well," Severance said.

The company is locally owned and a regular at the sportsman show. The group processes wild game and fish and carries supplies and views the annual event as a time to re-connect with old friends while making new ones.

"It's a time that we can get together and talk about the issues throughout the year, what we can do better, you know, what issues are happening with their machines," Severance said.

The last day of the show is Sunday, April 7. It will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
