Anchorage police responded Monday night to a vehicle-pedestrian collision on Muldoon Road that left a girl seriously injured.

Officers were initially called to the 700 block of Muldoon at about 7:30 p.m. Monday, according to an APD statement, after a woman driving a Honda minivan struck the girl. The driver remained at the site of the collision, which occurred in a residential area, for questioning by officers.

“The female juvenile was transported to a local hospital with what initially appeared to be non-life threatening injuries; once [she] arrived at [the] hospital, her condition has changed to life-threatening,” police wrote.

Police said shortly after 9 p.m. that no road closures were announced in the area, but traffic investigators were en route to examine the collision.
