APD investigating shooting that left 1 dead, 2 wounded
One man is dead and two people are injured after an overnight shooting in Anchorage.
An early morning news release from the Anchorage Police Department states that officers responded to an apartment building at 347 Oklahoma Street for reports of gun shots around midnight.
When officers arrived, they found two men and one woman outside of an apartment building. According to the release, one man was shot in the upper body and declared dead at the scene. The other man was also shot in the upper body and was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The woman had been assaulted. She was transported to the hospital for care of her injuries, which police wrote were not life-threatening.
As of 5:21 a.m., when the release was sent, there had been no arrests made. APD stated that multiple people were being questioned in the homicide investigation.
Sunday afternoon, APD spokesperson MJ Thim said police had yet to determine if the shooting happened in the apartment building or outside where the people were found. The department was still working to determine a motive.
