Free legal help offered to Alaskans affected by Nov. 30 quake
A partnership between local and federal organizations is offering free, non-criminal legal help for Alaskans affected by the Nov. 30 earthquake.
The Alaska Bar Association, Alaska Legal Service Corporation, American Bar Association Young Lawyers Division and the Federal Emergency Management Agency are offering the help together, according to a release from FEMA Wednesday.
The groups are holding two events in Anchorage this week at the Spenard Community Recreation Center:
- Thursday March 28 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Saturday March 30 from noon to 5 p.m.
If you can’t make it to one of those times, call 1-855-743-1001 Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. You should get a response within 24 to 48 hours.
