Alaska State Troopers are investigating a fatal "shooting incident" in Wasilla Tuesday evening.

According to an online dispatch, Troopers received a report of shots fired in “a Wasilla subdivision” just after 5 p.m. Medics were subsequently called to the area.

“AST responded and located one person deceased and another person injured outside of a residence,” troopers wrote.

The dispatch noted that troopers were able to "contact all involved parties."

Troopers spokeswoman Megan Peters declined to discuss the location of the call Tuesday evening. She said initial information indicated the victims were shot, but that hadn’t yet been confirmed.

An investigation into the incident, as well as next-of-kin notifications, were still in progress Tuesday.
