Police and medics initially responded to the fatal vehicle-pedestrian collision at about 5:25 p.m.

"The preliminary investigation found that a red pickup truck was traveling westbound on 3rd Avenue when an adult female emerged from a group of people on the side of the road and crossed in front of the truck," police wrote. "[Henning] was struck and pronounced dead at the scene."

Mauga is allegedly the driver of the red pickup.
