BB gun confiscated at Chugiak High, student 'found not to be a threat'
The Anchorage School District says it confiscated a BB gun from a student at Chugiak High School on Friday.
A message sent to staff and families said a separate student reported the BB gun. In the email, CHS assistant principal Allison Susel said the BB gun was confiscated immediately and the student who had it was "found not to be a threat to themselves or others."
The Anchorage Police Department was contacted about the incident. Susel also said the student will be "appropriately disciplined," but did not say what that discipline would entail.
In a news release from ASD, the district expressed appreciation to students who report any information about potential danger, adding "kudos to the student who stepped up to do the right thing."
